About the Role

Your role is to perform the duties of a Well Operations Engineer. This involves preparation, planning, execution and review of Completion, Workover, Abandonment and Well Intervention Operations.

Accountabilities:

· You are accountable for your own actions

· To promote the behaviours and attitudes required for compliance with HSE rules and procedures

· To ensure that all parties involved in operations are informed of the plans, fully understand them and the risks involved

Expectations:

· That work will be stopped by you if there is a belief that HS&E may be compromised due to the activities being undertaken

· Use knowledge of well design and well construction scope to prepare detailed operating procedures offshore as directed by onshore DCI engineering support

· Works with and advises Well Site Suncor representatives who are empowered to take immediate actions to protect people, the environment, assets and corporate reputation should time or communication links not allow consultation with the Drilling Superintendent

· Advises Well Site Supervisors and Superintendent when MOC process is required (i.e. provide re-assurance that Suncor’s standards are being met especially during critical activities)

· Support execution of safe and efficient well operations according to Operator standards, and in alignment with the principles of Operational Excellence

· Integrate and liaise with other functions such as MAO (ROV operations), RMT, Subsea, and QA/QC · Assist well engineer generating MOCs and deviations for changes in scope of operations

· Monitor contractor performance and engage QA/QC rep when required

· Maintain DCI master action register and progress actions to close out

· Analyze historical weather and rig motion data to support operational decisions

· Support updates to Source Control Response Plan

· Accountable for effective handovers with rotational peer

Responsibilities

· Supports the safe and efficient execution of well operations in a manner consistent with the clients Code of Business Conduct, WDM, OEMS Standards, established procedures and well specific programs.

· Working closely with the Well Operations Superintendent and Well Engineers, liaises with onshore and offshore DCI engineering and operations teams to generate SOPs/DDPs

· Coordinate lessons learned sessions, risk assessments and MOCs.

· Ensures continuous improvement by incorporating all pertinent Lessons Learned into final SOP revision(s) prior to upcoming well(s).

· Monitors service company performance and engages with QA/QC rep to generate NCRs and follow through to closure.

· During rig intake operations, the Well Ops Engineer will co-ordinate and liaise closely with vendors and the rig contractor to plan for equipment placement and plan for operations.

· Drive value and performance improvements on all activities

· Become familiar with Health Safety & Environmental information issued by the company

· To ensure compliance at all times with any local systems, rules and procedures, including any quality assurance standards (ISO 9001:2015) set by the Company and/or external certification authorities

· Provide HS & E leadership at all times

· Ensure service company proposed design and procedures fully meet operational requirements

· Prepare project briefing pack and issue to service companies

· Liaise with and supervise service companies during any qualification or job specific interface tests or trials

· Interfacing with the Well Examiner

· Prepare weekly project status reports

· Conduct regular project update meetings with line manager to track progress

· Schedule and chair DOP review meetings.

· Coordinate input from offshore service companies into DOP planning.

· Ensure regulatory and operator compliance

· Ensures accurate and timely distribution of final DOP offshore prior to job execution

· Verify completion of Equipment and Preparations Checklists

· Chair After Action Reviews following completion of DOP activities.

· Update DOP with opportunities of improvement and submit to onshore team.

Requirements

Required Qualifications / Experience:

· Minimum 10 years interventions experience

· Previously performed the role of Operations Supervisor on Floating MODU essential

· Excellent understanding of Drilling/Completions Engineering

· Competent user level computer skills

· Understanding of geophysical, geological, and reservoir engineering considerations.

· Applied leadership and teamwork behaviors

· Crisis management skills

· Harsh environment experience

· Offshore operations experience including FPSO and/or other vessel simultaneous operations

· NORSOK D-010 barrier familiarization

· Excellent communication in English and ability to work effectively with a wide range of

stakeholders
