About the Role

Subsea engineering support is required for investigating/verifying integration of subsea equipment to the existing Terra Nova subsea production system, with specific focus on enabling hydraulic well suspension and isolation capability.

This is a temporary requirement (contract) for approximately one (1) year with an estimated commencement date of April or early May 2026, and potential for extension. Work scope is expected to be part time, approximately 20-24 hours per week initially with potential to increase to full-time, if offshore work scope is required.

Responsibilities

Design and Planning:

  • Input to the integration of commercially available subsea injection systems within the existing Terra Nova subsea architecture
  • Support development and review of system integration philosophies, including interfaces, and operational constraints
  • Review equipment interfaces with existing subsea equipment Identification of equipment placement options.
  • Participate in technical reviews to confirm compatibility with existing subsea infrastructure

Support definition and validation of hydraulic well suspension and isolation concepts, including:

  • Valve actuation sequences
  • Fail‑safe and contingency behavior
  • Review and provide input to hydraulic schematics, pressure ratings, and redundancy philosophies related to available equipment options

Work with various contractors, other operators and support regulatory engagement for development of subsea injection concept at Terra Nova:

  • Interface with proposed contractor on equipment specific interfaces
  • Clarify ROV and vessel based interfaces – ROV tooling, vessel procedures, vessel deck management
  • Engage with other Operators for potential synergies
  • Support regulatory engagement as required to enable work scope

Support identification and management of technical risks associated with subsea injection at Terra Nova:

  • HAZIDs
  • HAZOPs
  • Design or operational risk reviews
  • Support internal Gate requirements to gain alignment for transitioning from planning to execution Provide support during FAT, SIT, and commissioning readiness activities related to subsea injection hydraulic and control functionality
  • Certifying authority engagement Scope to potentially extend to offshore execution readiness and execution (offshore trial or planned execution)
  • Construction or installation supervision

Requirements

Significant experience (typically 10+ years) in subsea engineering roles Demonstrated experience with:

  • Subsea production systems
  • Hydraulic control systems
  • Brownfield subsea modifications or equipment integration Familiarity with subsea valve actuation, isolation philosophies, and well integrity considerations
  • Onsite experience with subsea equipment – HXT equipment installation, choke changeouts, etc

Additional Desirable Requirements:

  • Prior experience and knowledge of Terra Nova subsea system is highly desirable Prior experience with industry subsea injection is highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Engineering or related fields.

Location and Travel Requirements;

The hours of work are approximately 20-24 hours per week. Schedule for part-time work TBD.

Duration: Anticipated to be 6 months with potential for extension.
